Some historical fact/spam accounts keep spreading this photo with the following caption: Martin Luther King Jr being attacked as he marched nonviolently for the Chicago Freedom Movement, 1966.

Note: earlier this picture has been spread with a title “Martin Luther King Jr. shot”

This photograph was taken after Martin Luther King was struck by a rock. The people in the photo are trying to protect him. The picture spam caption is both inaccurate and misleading.
