Is this photo of a space shuttle solid booster separation real?

It’s not real. PicPedant debunked this on Twitter:

Seen this Shuttle image a lot through the years and thought nothing of it, but just noticed the separation motor smoke is airbrushed, and light on lower SRB segments is more orange than SSME exhaust. Turns out it’s an edit of this STS-90 launch photo
